Slack Barshinger, Chicago?s premiere business-to-business communications agency seeks an IT Desktop System Administrator who?s sharp as a tack, people-oriented, a quick learner, organized and proactive. Not just a computer geek, this ideal candidate is a people person and great trouble-shooter! Two-to-four years experience in IT. Position Purpose This position will provide comprehensive PC & Mac IT support and administration for Slack Barshinger employees, core applications & servers, and internal network. Duties will include new PC setup, Windows 2000, XP and Exchange server administration; data backup and restore; help desk support for Windows & Mac environment, maintenance of Windows Servers. Job Responsibilities * Assist in daily helpdesk troubleshooting * Proactively work with vendors in anticipation of product enhancements and upgrades * Maintain documentation and training material for supported services * Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel * May participate in infrastructure projects * Test new equipment and systems prior to implementation * Implement and communicate new technology to internal end users * Maintain software and hardware inventory/asset management * Desktop and laptop procurement and configuration * Create corporate LAN and e-mail accounts and establish VPN for remote users * Windows 2000 and XP Systems Administration * Exchange 2003 administration * Application support for MS Office XP/2003, Client & Profits, Meeting Maker * DNS/DHCP/WINS, Active Directory management * TCP/IP troubleshooting skills * Able to troubleshoot IT issues with end users related to printing, e-mail, file server access, internet access, PDA syncing, voicemail, etc... * Experience deploying, monitoring and performance tuning PC workstations. * Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills. * Experience in backup/recovery.
